Nissan undertakes longest UK self-driving trip

The Leaf test vehicle used GPS, radar, LIDAR and camera technologies to make decisions about changing lanes, merging and stopping and starting. Two engineers on board monitored the vehicle’s actions.

CRANFIELD, England -- A Nissan Leaf has completed a 230-mile (370 km) journey autonomously in Britain, the longest and most complex such trip in the country as automakers race to develop driverless technologies which could revolutionize travel.
