Sales of the Tesla Model Y rose more than 260% in November.
The Tesla Model Y was Europe's No. 1 seller for November, ending the Volkswagen Golf's one-month reign as region's best-seller.
Tesla sold 19,144 units of the premium midsize SUV, a gain of more than 260 percent on the same month last year. It was a big rebound for the electric model after it fell out of the top 50 in October, just one month after finishing as Europe's overall top-seller.
The Dacia Sandero was No. 2 in November with a volume of 18,746, a gain of 16 percent, according to preliminary figures from market researcher Dataforce (some markets were late with their figures because of the holidays).
The Toyota Yaris rounded out the top three with sales of 17,309 units, a rise of more than 150 percent from the same month last year.
Through November, six different models have finished the month as Europe's top-seller and four of the six have won two or more months.
The monthly winners in 2022 have been the Dacia Sandero (January), VW Golf (February and October), Tesla Model 3 (March), 208 (April-June), VW T-Roc (July-August) and Model Y (September and November).
In November six of the models in the top 10 recorded sales increases, according to Dataforce's preliminary figures. Joining the Model Y, Sandero and Yaris with gains were the VW Tiguan, VW Golf, which dropped to eighth last month from No. 1 in October despite a 118 percent increase, and the Toyota Yaris Cross.
The other cars in the top 50 with big gains were the Ford Puma (+218 percent), Kia Sportage (+121 percent) and the Audi A3 (+100 percent).
Europe's overall leader through November was the Peugeot 208 with a volume of 193,743, according to Dataforce's preliminary numbers. That means the 208 appears poised to finish 2022 as Europe's overall best-seller.
The Sandero was Europe's No. 2 seller through 11 months with 180,553 sales, a rise of 1.8 percent over the first 11 months of 2021. It has a lead of more than 16,000 units over the T-Roc, which is in a tight battle with the Golf to finish the year as Europe's No. 3-seller overall.
