MILAN -- Stellantis has expanded its family of battery-electric microcars with the debut of the Fiat Topolino.
Fiat revealed the car's name and a photo Wednesday but provided no technical details or the car's price.
The quadricycle is a close sibling to the Citroen Ami and the Opel Rocks-e. The Citroen Ami quadricycle was unveiled in 2020, while the Opel Rocks-e followed in 2021.

The only picture of the Topolino from Fiat shows a convertible with a canvas top and no doors. A similar version of the Ami, called My Ami Buggy, will go on sale starting June 20.
Topolino (Italian for small mouse) is the name given in Italy to Disney cartoon character Mickey Mouse. Topolino is also the nickname given in Italy to the original Fiat 500 that was launched in 1936, making car ownership possible for the country's masses as the Volkswagen Beetle did in Germany.
Prices of the Fiat Topolino have not been announced yet. The Citroen Ami has a base price of 6,326 euros in Italy while the My Ami Buggy will start from 7,910 euros.
While Fiat gave no technical specifications for the car, the Citroen Ami is 2410mm long, 1390mm wide and 1520mm tall. Its 5.5-kilowatt-hour battery powers a 6-kW electric motor giving the vehicle a range of 70 km.
The Topolino joins a class of vehicles known in the EU as a quadricycle. Such models have a top speed limited to 45 kph and the minimum driving age is 14 years old, as long as the person has a motorcycle license.
The Topolino will be assembled alongside its siblings at Stellantis' plant in Kenitra, Morocco.
Stellantis said in 2022 it would invest 300 million euros to double production capacity at Kenitra to 400,000 from 200,000 units. The plant currently builds the Peugeot 208 small hatchback alongside the microcars.
Production of the Citroen and Opel variants totaled about 20,000 units in 2022, with the addition of the Topolino expected to increase output to 35,000 to 40,000 units this year, suppliers sources told Automotive News Europe.
"The all-electric Topolino quadricycle is ready to contribute to expanding urban electric mobility," Fiat said in a release. "It is perfectly suitable for the city and people looking for a sustainable and fresh mobility solution, fitting in with Fiat's mission of providing urban sustainable mobility solutions accessible to everyone."
