Renault's compact SUV lineup

Renault now has four entrants in the highly profitable compact SUV segment, Europe's second largest.

Symbioz: Intended as the "entry level" offering, the Symbioz features a roomy interior and is based on a small-car platform, making it extremely light and agile, Renault says.

Arkana: The coupe-style SUV, also based on the small-car platform, was a surprise hit when it was launched in Europe in 2020. It is built in South Korea, and was originally designed for the Russian and South Korean markets.

Austral: Renault's flagship compact SUV features four-wheel steering and an extremely efficient and clean 1.2-liter hybrid engine.

Scenic: Renault has taken the name from a family of minivans for its full-electric compact SUV. The Scenic's range is more than 600 km, making it suitable for a primary vehicle, Renault says.

PARIS -- Renault is completing its compact SUV lineup with the Symbioz, an “entry level” compact SUV that will arrive in dealerships in September with a full-hybrid drivetrain.
