FRANKFURT -- Mercedes-Benz will debut a full-electric luxury sedan concept at the Frankfurt auto show
Mercedes teased the car with images on its social media account.
"The EQ story continues. We're pioneering the future of sustainable modern luxury. See the interior design vision of an all-electric four-seater luxury sedan," the automaker wrote via Twitter, describing it elsewhere as "a glimpse into the not-so-distant future."
Mercedes displayed several sketches and CGI renderings that hint toward what might be the EQS, a flagship four-door EV.

The heavily curved silhouette is reminiscent of the Concept IAA fastback shown four years ago in Frankfurt.
Autocar reported that the EQS is expected to be powered by a battery with around 90 kWh of capacity good for a range of up to 500 km (311 miles) and delivering over 400 horsepower to two axles via a pair of electric motors.
That would put it roughly on par with the current Mercedes EQC SUV currently starting at 71,281 euros including VAT in Germany.
In this episode of the Ally All Ears podcast, host Emma Hancock interviews Kelly Olson, Senior Director of Operations for SmartAuction at Ally Financial, about the importance of quality control in online wholesale auctions. Olson discusses advancements in online auction platforms, highlighting the importance of detailed condition reports, AI technology for damage detection, and the evolving incorporation of electric vehicle information, all aimed at building trust and reliability for dealers purchasing pre-owned inventory.
A Mercedes spokesman said the technical specifications cited by Autocar was "speculation."
Daimler's new CEO, Ola Kallenius, has set forth a strategy to shift the brand to a zero-emission model range and forecast that by 2030 he wants half of all Mercedes sales to be fully electric.
