Nissan has promoted long-serving executive Guilliame Cartier to head its business region that includes Europe.
Cartier moves to the post from his role as the region's head of sales and marketing. He succeeds Gianluca De Ficchy, who will be in charge of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance's purchasing organization.
Cartier will lead all Nissan operations in the Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) region effective April 1, the automaker said in a statement.
Nissan announced the creation of the new region in September last year.
Cartier will report to Nissan's chief quality officer and vice-chief performance officer, Christian Vandenhende.
Cartier has spent more than 25 years within the alliance after joining Nissan in his native France. He rose to the role of head of sales and marketing for Nissan Europe in 2013, before becoming the Tokyo-based head of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi.
In April 2020, Cartier was appointed to lead Nissan's budget Datsun brand, as well as head of oversee sales in the AMIEO region.
