Technology won’t eliminate traffic accidents, deaths

Regarding “Traffic deaths show no signs of abating despite years of tech advances,” autonews.com, March 24: So-called technology does have potential to improve automotive safety. However, who besides me has had numerous laptops fail at unexpected times? Also, iPhone and Android equivalents are just about guaranteed to be in the hands of a high percentage of drivers — i.e., technology causes a problem that did not exist in decades past.

So, technology gives and technology takes, eh? One would have to be pretty naive to believe technology will eliminate traffic accidents and deaths.
