VW hires Daimler's compliance chief to manage diesel scandal

FRANKFURT -- (Bloomberg) -- Volkswagen Group hired a compliance chief with a reputation for toughness from rival Daimler to help stem the fallout of the diesel-emissions cheating scandal shattering the automaker.
