Jaguar Land Rover named Richard Shore, a planning director, president of its China sales and marketing unit.
The appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2020, JLR said.
Shore will oversee sales, marketing and service of imported vehicles and products assembled at Jaguar Land Rover's joint venture with Chery Automobile.
Shore has worked for JLR for more than 10 years.
Prior to his planning role at the company's global headquarters in Coventry, England, he was chief financial officer for JLR’s China unit for four years, including one year as acting president.
JLR sells imported vehicles as well as five products built at its partnership with Chery -- the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar XFL, Jaguar XEL and Jaguar E-Pace.
JLR’s global retail sales in October dropped 5.5 percent to 41,866.
But deliveries continue to recover in China, rising 16 percent last month. It has maintained double-digit sales growth four consecutive months, JLR said, without disclosing volumes or other detail.
