Smart's February sales rose 69 percent, Tesla surged 41 percent, MG was up 38 percent, Ferrari grew 19 percent, Lotus gained 12 percent and Aston Martin finished the month with a 6.4 percent increase.
The models that propelled the brands' growth in February were the Smart ForTwo, Tesla Model 3, MG HS and ZS, Ferrari F8, Lotus Exige and Aston Martin DBX, according to figures from market researcher JATO Dynamics.
The other brands that recorded gains last month were Suzuki (+3.6 percent) and Volvo (+0.2 percent).
Meanwhile, 13 brands including Jeep, Porsche, Toyota, Mini, Dacia, Subaru, Peugeot and Skoda reported month-on-month sales declines but still beat the overall market.
A number of models increased sales in February despite retail challenges caused by the pandemic, including the Ford Kuga, Mercedes-Benz GLB Class, BMW 2-Series and the full-electric Porsche Taycan, which rose more than 65 percent to 687 sales.
