The Peugeot 208 was No. 2 in September with a volume of 20,123, a gain of 48 percent, according to figures from market researcher Dataforce. The 208 was also Europe's No. 1 seller through nine months with 162,636 sales, a rise of 11 percent on the first three quarters of 2021.
The Dacia Sandero rounded out the top three with sales of 17,866 units, a decline of 1.1 percent on the same month last year.
The Model Y is the sixth different model to finish the month as Europe's top-seller.
The other monthly winners so far in 2022 were the Dacia Sandero (January), VW Golf (February), Tesla Model 3 (March), 208 (April-June) and T-Roc (July-August).
The Model Y, T-Roc and 208 were three of the seven models in the top 10 for last month to record gains.
The others were the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Qashqai and VW Polo, which had a volume of 15,367 in September, an increase of 23 percent compared with the same month last year.
