The breadth of the Tesla Model Y's success during the first quarter, which culminated with it being Europe's No. 1-seller during the period, can be seen by its results in the region's markets.

The EV maker's SUV went from leading in three markets after two months (Denmark, Iceland and Norway) to seven markets at the close of the quarter because of the Model Y's 140 percent sales increase in March to 46,282 units, according to market researcher Dataforce.
