PARIS -- Renault Group has named Jana Striezel, an executive at Volkswagen Group, as director of purchasing. She will also serve as Renault-Nissan Alliance global director of purchasing Europe.
Striezel will report to Gianluca de Ficchy, managing director of the Alliance Purchasing Organization, and Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo. She will be a member of Renault’s management committee.
She starts in her new post on Oct. 1.
Striezel, 44, a graduate of Bayreuth University in Germany and Yale Law School in the U.S., has been executive director corporate purchasing exterior for the VW Group and VW brand since February 2019.
She joined VW Group in 2014 as senior legal counsel antitrust, and became head of antitrust, merger control and criminal law in 2016. She led a task force that sought to reduce group emissions in 2017-18, and in May 2018 she became a strategic adviser to the board of management in purchasing and components.
Before joining VW, Striezel worked at the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for nine years, in competition and antitrust.
